Join the DC COA Family!
Hello Officers,
Hope our Commissioned Corps family is hanging strong, as usual! Brené Brown defines connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued…and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship. This is a good reminder for us to seek that connectivity amongst ourselves. DC COA can play an important role in providing this needed energy.
DC COA, as a large local chapter of COA, provides fellow officers an opportunity to serve, volunteer, network, education, and leadership. COA is focused on safeguarding the welfare and future of the Commissioned Corps.
DC COA’s Member Outreach Committee would like to remind our officers that connection and membership with COA and our local chapters is of the utmost importance. And DC COA’s membership is only $10, a great value.
DC COA has a number of exciting local opportunities and events coming up:
COF Symposium Scholarships (ten $500 awardees annually),
Monthly in-person networking events such as paint-n-sip, lunch and happy hours with retirees, restaurant roadshow, DC COA Annual Picnic, the BIGGEST fitness event of the year – the Army Ten Miler,
A plethora of community outreach activities,
Educational events to help you personally and professionally,
Leadership opportunities
Amongst others ways to connect and support each other. We welcome opportunities to do so!
As a DC COA member, you also receive 15% off your total DC COA merchandise purchase.
At the national level, your membership supports advocacy for USPHS officers (active duty, reserve, and retired) on the Hill and the many scholarship programs that COA supports.
This is an important time to join or renew membership. Please go to www.coausphs.org and follow these steps:
Click the down arrow in the upper right corner near your name.
Go to My Account to edit your profile and renew your membership.
Use password COA12345 if you have not recently changed it.
Ensure your contact information and personal profile is up to date.
Call the office staff at 301-731-9080 for questions or assistance.
There is an option for automatic payments, so you won’t have to worry about your national membership expiring. But please note that branch membership (i.e., DC COA) dues must be paid on a yearly basis to be considered a member of DC COA. Also note that COA runs on a fiscal year of July 1-June 30. COA does not prorate dues.
Please reach out to our Member Outreach Leadership Team, CAPT Aaron Middlekauf (ret.), amiddlekauff@yahoo.com, CDR Dipti Kalra, kalradipti@yahoo.com, LCDR Drew Katherine, drewkathern@gmail.com, if you have questions or would like additional assistance.
We want you to stay a part of the COA family and are available for you.
